About

Beef is one of the newest and most critically acclaimed shows the Boob Tube Boys have covered so far, but it’s not the tale of two cows falling in love that its title might imply. Hey, we can dream.

Ali Wong and Steven Yeun play two characters in vastly different social positions at the end of their respective ropes. A chance encounter between them starts a fierce rivalry that will have rippling consequences.

The Tube trio talks Rick Berry, weird types of birds, small moments of accuracy that enhance TV shows, and the titling conventions of Beef episodes.

About

The second episode of Beef picks up right where the first left off, with is to say in a big ol’ puddle of pee and revenge. The revenge part continues this week with voicemails and vandalizing, but there’s no more pee.

Van, Spencer, and Brian discuss how the characters in Beef have relatable insecurities and struggles despite the way they handle them. They also talk about how Beef horned in on the podcast’s own IP (talking about the origin of chairs as a form of entertainment), so it’s not all serious stuff.

Brian keeps things in the present decade by choosing another streaming drama as the guys return to picking their own hosting duties beginning next week.
