Home Improvement was the sitcom vehicle for Tim Allen, who was inexplicably the most popular entertainer in the world briefly. Allen plays Tim “The Tool Man” Taylor, a man who specializes in saying he is a man.
Tim has three beautiful blond baby boys, a stay-at-home wife who manages his existence, and a hidden neighbor who likes to give advice. Not everything is perfect in Tim’s life, though, as his old college pal Stu is back in town and looking for a bawdy time Tim can no longer give him.
Brian chronicles Allen’s rise to fame, everyone shares their childhood encounters with Home Improvement, and Richard Karn becomes something of an oasis.

Two years on in the Home Improvement run, the Boob Tube Boys do not find Tim Allen any funnier, not even as they collectively fall in love with Richard Karn.
It turns out Tim is a rather inattentive and self-absorbed husband. Jill’s quest to get her husband to be more romantic ends in a surprising amount of farting and a lengthy marital spat. Will Tim learn from his mistakes, or will he become Santa?
Later, Brian washes his hands of Home Improvement and continues BTB Hot Potato by dealing Spencer another sitcom featuring a common internal target.
