About

The Boob Tube Boys are no stranger to Donald P. Bellisario’s oeuvre thanks to their Magnum P.I. episodes, so they’re well prepared to talk about Quantum Leap even though it is objectively nuts. Hunk scientist Sam (Scott Dracula) is sent throughout time to right wrongs with the assistance of Al (Dean Stockwell) and his iPad.

This week, Sam assumes the role of lead singer in a ’70s arena rock band. This means he must remember to answer to the name Tonic, work on his stage persona, and perhaps even learn a thing or two about fatherhood. Oh yeah, and Sam has to foil his own murder.

The Tube crew assesses Scott Bakula’s onscreen charisma, the world of fake television bands, and the concept of rocking the redhead.

Highlights

-Eisenhower and Lutz, the only detective pairing comprised of a former U.S. president and a giant potato chip

-more Jim Cramer financial advice

-the hit songs we all know and love, songs like “Fate’s Wide Wheel,” “Rock the Redhead,” and “Hot Spot”

About

Sam thought it was tough learning all of those butt rock songs last week, but his task in “The Wrong Stuff” is even more daunting. With Al’s help, Sam enters the body of a chimp to uncover the dirty secrets behind an ape space program.

This episode has all sorts of questionable medical statements, chimp romance, and an array of Dean Stockwell noises made between lines. Will Sam save the day? Will he be attracted to chimps when he turns human again? You’ll have to listen to find out.

After everyone gives their overall feelings on Quantum Leap, Brian keeps things in the ’90s with a new show announcement delivered rather suddenly.

Highlights

-Neil Armstrong and Bobo, first “men” on the moon

-What’s the going rate on a big bag of chimp blood?

-the guys play a new game called SandWhich One?
