About

The ’90s may have been rife with sex, drugs, and excess, but a little CBS show called Touched by an Angel was around to correct everyone’s sinful behavior. Tasked with covering the show by Van, Spencer must explain this treacly world of voyeur angels who mostly just scold their subjects.

This week’s case involves a magician played by Corbin Bernsen reckoning with a childhood refrigerator tragedy by performing death-defying stunts called things like “The Spikes of Mortality” or “A Really Mean Knife.”

There are side plots involving angel training and dog theft, but make no mistake: Bernsen’s Angel of Death leaves center stage for no act!

Highlights

-David Leisure is back!

-Fun with the world of famous magicians

-One of the strangest endings the BTBs have covered so far

About

The Boob Tube Boys have had some big moments thus far in their podcasting careers. There was Martin “Birdman” Avishominus nearly causing Van to choke to death, the famed Gyor vs. Smith battle, and of course K.A.R.R. racing across the mean streets of Knight Rider. This Touched by an Angel episode just might join the ranks of these monumental notches in time.

The angel characters are busy spying on an average middle class American family when a young Evan Rachel Wood is doing research on Hawaii and accidentally stumbles upon what the show believes is pornography. While her dad (Gary Cole, fresh off Office Space) ushers her away from the screen quickly, the family is sent down a dangerous path.

Once the BTBs recover from this tornado of an episode, Brian gives Van the final (and best) show of this Hot Potato round.
