Doug is a show about a boy named Doug. Well, a boy with little hair and enormous shorts who is in love with someone named Mayonnaise. The Boob Tube Boys covered Doug in full on the podcast but we here at Bootu Inc. feel it’s a great idea to give you yet another look at the episodes we cover by offering you this fine collection of GIFs at a discount cost
Enjoy!
1. Doug‘s Iconic Title Card
Like most shows, Doug begins with the main character lassoing his own name before accidentally binding himself to his dog
2. Cowbaby Doug Rides His Dog
What else do you want from me? Look at it
3. Porkchop is Acting Weird
Doug doesn’t know why his beloved Porkchop is rolling all over the front steps and refusing a cone full of conspicuously dark peanut butter. It’s because he’s in love with another dog, and also possibly because he’s on a weird heartworm medication.
4. Dognet
Doug often imagines himself in parody versions of entertainments he should be too young to know anything about. Maybe I’m wrong. Kids are probably going on and on about Joe Friday on TikTok.
5. Doug Has a Crush
It’s not just Porkchop who is smitten. Doug drools and becomes despondent if Patti Mayonnaise happens to pass by
6. Help From a Neighbor
Doug gets some priceless advice from his neighbor, Bud Dink: Porkchop is in love, and it is best to facilitate the canine tryst he so desires
7. Doug Fails at Being Alone
Porkchop is gone for about three seconds on his first dog date when Doug resorts to drawing his pet in a show of burgeoning codependency
8. Mr. Porkchop Funny, Esq.
Porkchop is positively delighted, having apparently returned from taking his date to the 1893 World’s Fair
9. Alternative Pets
What if instead of Porkchop, Doug had a lobster and the world’s color scheme was different? Makes you think
10. Heartbreak
Porkchop’s fairy tale ends abruptly when he sees his girlfriend strolling with an absolute beefcake dog that probably has junkyard fight experience. Tough break, man
11. Honk! Honk!
All narrative threads seem to be wrapping up when Girl Skeeter shows up to deliver a pizza in lightning bolt pants. Skeeter is head over heels, and it’s hard to blame the guy
12. Doug Meets Dale
Skeeter introduces Doug to his baby bro Dale. Dale immediately roasts Doug’s big nose like he’s Don Rickles or something, thus making Doug self-conscious about his smeller for the rest of the episode. That’s not good, because Doug has school pictures coming up
13. Revisionist History Daydream
Armed with a new reason to dislike himself, Doug imagines horrifying his mom’s friends as a big-nosed baby
14. Blending In
Doug decides the best course of action is to go to school dressed as a common pervert to avoid anyone talking about his nose
15. Revisionist Future Daydream
The visions just keep getting worse for poor Douglas. This time he envisions knocking Patti out with his submarine of a scent seeker
16. Doug Eats Shit
Doug races after Patti to explain that he hates his nose, but he makes out with the pavement instead. Patti eventually reassures Doug that his nose gives him character, the words he needed to go ahead with picture day (and his life)
17. Doug Receives Holy Grail
All this nose concern pays off when Doug finally obtains the object of his dreams: a signed school photo from Patti. You wouldn’t believe what these things go for at auction
18. Mouthful of Nose
Dale is hard, and he proves it again by biting a hole into Doug’s nose and then essentially threatening to eat it whole
19. Urban Legend, Profitable Attraction
It’s Halloween, and there’s a new ride at Funky Town Amusement Park to mark the occasion! It’s based on an urban legend where a young, green couple fall to their death entering their new home because their architect didn’t remember floors. You know, like most roller coasters. Skeeter is eager to ride it, while Doug is quite apprehensive
20. Race Canyon and the Temple of Goons
Doug imagines his action/adventure idol Race Canyon storming Funky Town’s Bloodstone Manor, the site of its Threshold of Death ride, and laying waste to a bunch of ugly gargoyles. This makes Doug feel better
21. Judy Catches Doug Being Cool
Emboldened by the “WWRCD?” scenario he just daydreamt, Doug dons his Halloween costume so he can pretend to be Race Canyon himself. Doug begins doing his best action poses and moves until he’s noticed by Judy, his beatnik older sister. Judy mocks Doug despite how obviously cool he is being
22. Roger Tries a Prank
If Doug and Skeeter might be too old to trick-or-treat (as the characters debate), then Roger’s mid-20s ass definitely is. Undeterred by public opinion, Roger roams the Bluffington streets trying to scare younger kids by pulling his leather jacket over his bacon-shaped hair. It does not work
23. Skeeter Shows Off His Costume’s Features
Roger and his motley goon squad hurl a few insults at Doug and Skeeter. Skeeter doesn’t care, opting instead to show how his Space Monks-themed costume does the ultimate sproing
24. Peer Pressure Showdown
Roger and his mutants want Doug to TP Vice Principal Lamar Bone’s house, but Doug refuses in a show of character. Well, that’s what we thought initially. Apparently he was just too scared to deface an adult’s house
25. Mayonnaise a Lotta Charisma in that Family
Doug tries to drag trick-or-treating out long enough to avoid the scary ride at Funky Town, but fate intervenes. Patti Mayonnaise and her beach dad pull up and offer the boys a ride, and what are they gonna do, refuse? Those handsome Mayonnaises, I tell ya what
26. Assorted Ghouls
Doug psychs himself up for The Threshold of Death by picturing himself defending Patti from Bloodstone Manor’s many standard ghosts and ghouls. It’s unclear what he really does, but those things flee their home at once. I guess that’s the benefit of the imagination, you can just do whatever
27. Too Late?
Skeeter and Doug (okay, really just Skeeter) are bummed when the Funky Town employee manning The Threshold of Death line closes up early. Roger convinces the others to sneak in and brave the ride anyway once he notices the door to Bloodstone Manor is unlocked
28. Bloodstone Makes His Dramatic Entrance
The green-faced monster man who runs Bloodstone Manor magically appears to greet Doug, Skeeter, and Roger. I’ll call him Bloodstone from here on out, because that’s totally what we did on the podcast. Bloodstone is very talented at special effects and knows his way around a cackle
29. Ledge of Doom
Bloodstone’s first illusion involves pushing the boys off a ledge into a deep chasm below! Just kidding, no one dies in Doug, there’s a clear covering that prevents anyone from falling
30. Don’t Eat Shit Where You Eat
The scares keep coming as Bloodstone forces his afterhours guests to eat wiggling, screaming, alive balls of poop
31. Fright Night
Once the boys actually get on The Threshold of Death coffin ride, Doug and Skeeter have the time of their lives. Roger tinkles in his trousers, plotting his revenge the whole while
32. Roger is Missing
The ride comes to a halt in the middle of the track, so Doug and Skeeter go to look for help. Roger goes missing in the meantime, and when only his shoes show up in the ride’s passenger coffin, Doug and Skeeter become worried.
33. Bloodstone Shows Up Dramatically Again
Doug accidentally uncovers a lurking Bloodstone when he opens a mysterious tomb door searching for Roger. Bloodstone loves jump scares and sleeping standing up, so this one is a real “two birds” situation for him
34. Race Canyon and The Savers of the Lost Roger
Doug imagines himself turning into Race Canyon in a mirror as if Race Canyon ever wore a sweater vest once in his swashbuckling life. This gives Doug the courage to confront Bloodstone about Roger, but it turns out Roger is behind his own disappearance. Once a prankster, always a prankster
35. Sweet Revenge
Bloodstone uses a series of projectors and intercoms to help Doug and Skeeter turn the tables on Roger and his goofball pals. Surely now Roger will never do anything bad again
36. Spectral Funnel
Bloodstone casually reveals that he is that guy who died by falling through his own floor all those years ago, and then he tornadoes himself into the sky never to be seen again
And thus concludes the Boob Tube Boys’ coverage of Nickelodeon’s Doug! Be sure to check out the podcast episodes and while you’re at it leave us 5 stars wherever you get your podcasts (but preferably on Apple Podcasts, since that’s really the only metric that matters still), and stick around for the next two weeks when we discuss Friends. That means Chandler and Ross GIFs for what that’s worth
